The Land Down Under

Recently, a species of shark that is rarely seen alive was captured just south of Tokyo.
frilledsharkg_468×331.jpg
This is a 5 foot long female frilled shark, sometimes referred to as a, “living fossil” because it is a primitive species that has changed little since prehistoric times. Seeing a shark like this is extremely rare because it lives so deep (about 2,000 ft.) humans are not capable of going that far down. This shark feeds on other sharks with its needle sharp teeth.

This odd looking yet fascinating creature died just a few hours after she was caught and brought into a salt water pool. The shark appeared to be in poor condition before it had been caught which explain what she was doing in shallower waters. Frilled sharks are sometimes caught in nets of trawlers but rarely ever seen alive.

I Wonder What Else Is Down There
There are such odd looking creatures that live in the deepest part of oceans, that we as humans can never see. This is so fascinating because I wonder what else lives there, and how big they are. I guess I will never know.

Two Guys, Two Laptops, One Couch, News Stories, And An Unknown Amount Of Beer

People need to take advantage of all the available free podcasts there are in the world, it is top notch entertainment, along with that it is possible to find a podcast about any topic. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you are interested I guarantee you can find a podcast you will not only enjoy, but you will LOVE it.

My favorite podcast of all time is Diggnation, I have yet to find a podcast I enjoy more. Diggnation covers some of the top stories off the website Digg.com Don’t worry, you do not need to read Digg.com to watch and understand the podcast.

What Is Diggnation? What Is A Podcast?
This video has some really old clip of a very early episode of Diggnation, but it does a good job at explaining podcasts and what Diggnation is.

Diggnation is not for everyone, some people might find it too geeky but I highly recommend giving it a try. Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht have such a good time making this podcast, their topics are almost always interesting because they cover so many, not to mention they are hilarious… that combination makes the show very enjoyable.

Oh, did I mention that Podcasts are free?!? How can you go wrong with that! www.diggnation.com

I also love diggnation because I love nerds, and these two guys, on their couch, with their lap tops, drinking their beer and covering tech/news stories, are nerds. (Therefore, I love them)

This next clip from diggnation made me laugh out loud until I cried a little, take a look it’s hilarious:

Starbucks Did It Again

The Way Starbucks Rips People Off Never Seizes To Amaze Me…
Their drinks are good for the most part, some of their employee’s on the other hand should never be allowed to touch a cup of coffee or handle a dollar bill. If someone is going to pay 4 dollars for a cup of coffee, that cup of coffee better be amazing, it better be worth every cent. If someone wants regular coffee it can be bought somewhere else for as little as 60 cents. Some Starbucks employee’s have yet to realize just how cheap people can get their coffee at other places, it should be a priority of the employee’s to make sure the customer gets what he or she is paying for.
Customers Do Not Get What They Pay For…
True story, I saw a women order a grande cup of coffee (aka medium cup of coffee) the barista made the mistake of making a tall (aka small) cup of coffee, instead of re-making the drink entirely the barista took the tall cup and placed it inside of the grande cup to make it look like it was bigger. That poor women paid for a grande and only got a tall. I am sure it tasted good, but the point is the woman obviously wanted more then just a tall cup of coffee.

Lets face it nobody wants a small cup of coffee because, drinking a small cup of coffee is like buying a calender for only one month, it’s great for a little while but you are just going to need to buy eleven more.

Guaranteed To Make Your Lips Burn And Swell!

I watched a woman apply a gloob of expensive lip gloss to her lips, then she winced in pain as she attempted to fan her lips with her hands while making a disgusted face.

“What’s wrong?” I asked
“Oh, its this lip plumper by Victoria Secret, it works really well it just burns horribly when I first apply it. After the burn goes away my lips just feel numb but they look great!”
v256664.jpg

Lip Fusion is a “moisturizing treatment gloss infused with advanced technology to plump lips instantly. This revolutionary formula consists of tiny, dehydrated, marine collagen microspheres that are instantly absorbed by the lips, and seek out the body’s natural moisture. When the microspheres are rehydrated, they plump and hold onto the moisture they’ve collected, creating a mild “swelling” of the lip tissue. The result is fuller, smoother, perfectly plumped lips in seconds. Results can last for up to 48 hours” ( VictoriaSecret.com )

I cannot believe the things some people do for beauty. Is having giant swollen lips really that important? Is it worth the pain and burning? Heaven forbid those lips touch a guy (in any way) I’d hate to see a guy suffer this burning sensation just because a women wanted slightly larger lips.

Buying a product that will cause you pain seems crazy to me, especially since this product ranges from $30-$50 dollars. Seems a tad bit extreme

Loud Websites Meet Their Biggest Nightmare

I am going to discuss with you my favorite application on my Mac right now: Detour

Have you ever been on your computer listening to music and you open up your internet browser and a loud obnoxious website disturbs your music listening?

This can be very frusterating, whether its music or an ad, it doesn’t matter what it is, most noises coming from websites are unwanted and unappreciated.

The application that can fix this problem is called Detour. It’s very simple, detour goes up in your menu bar and it allows you to choose different applications and their volume. For example, My detour has my internet browsers volume set at 0%. My ichat volume is also set at 0%.

Lets say I want to watch a video on youtube or something and my volume is at 0%. This is easy to fix because it is in my menu bar and I can just adjust it before the video starts playing.

It is a simple application that anyone can appreciate. Check it out, you won’t be sorry.

Snoogums-Boogums

Try to imagine the most sugary sweet lyrics you can,
It won’t even come close to these:

You’re my Honey bunch, Sugarplum

Pumpy-umpy-umpkin, You’re my sweety pie

You’re my Cuppycake, Gum drop

Snoogums-Boogums, You’re the apple of my eye

I love you so, and I want you to know

That I’ll always be right here

I love to sing sweet songs to you

Because you are so Dear!

Now watch the most adorable three year old with the cutest little voice singing it. This is the original cuppycake video

The CuppyCake Song

She didn’t get it right the first time, obviously there are bloopers. Lucky for us they were caught on camera. Check it out:

Yo Adrian!

I just recently saw Rocky VI. I enjoyed it much more then I thought I would, it was a perfect way to end the long line of Rocky movies.

The casting for this movie could not have been more perfect.
Milo Ventimiglia played Rocky Balboa’s adult son, if I did not know any better I would think they were related.

I do not think they look that much alike but they both have a very unique mouth, both of these men have a crooked lower lip. This feature is very unique and I have yet to see it in another person, because of their similar mouths, casting Milo as Rocky’s son was absolutely perfect.

Rocky played such a good caring father that I really enjoyed because it reminded me of my dad in a lot of ways. This movie is worth seeing if you have not seen it already.

At the end of the credits Sylvester Stallone should have added, “I promise not to make another Rocky movie”
Six movies is enough, and like I said before Rocky VI was the best way to end the long line of Rocky movies.
