How can someone be religious and be in the military?
Because basically the military teaches people how to kill. Just look at Marines, they are trained killing machines. Most religions have a strict no killing rule. In the Bible it is the sixth out of ten commandments, “Thou Shall Not Kill”
So how does a religious person in the military justify killing people? Is it because the government says its ok? Because who are they to make that decision? Personally, I do not feel like anyone should have the authoritied to decide who lives and who dies, and I cannot see how someone can consider themself religious if they completely ignore that commandment, which very obviously states you shall not kill. Basically, being religious and being in the armed forces is very hypocritical.
By posting this I do not want to offend anyone reading it who might be religous or in the military. This is just how I see things and I could be wrong, there might be a way to be religious and be in the military, I just don’t see it.
